WWU music department hosts two new performances this winter

Walla Walla University’s Department of Music has some exciting events coming up that you won't want to miss.

On March 8, the department will host their annual winter concert performed by the university’s choirs and symphony orchestra. Repertoire includes movements from Joseph Haydn's “Missa in Tempore Belli,” Beethoven's Symphony no.7, and Ralph Vaughan Williams' “Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus.” The program will be at 4 p.m. in the Walla Walla University Church.

On March 11 at 7:30 p.m., the department will present “Friends of Broadway,” a voice recital highlighting the students of music professor Christine Janis and music instructor Diane Gray-Chamberlain. Selections will be chosen from classic broadway musicals showcasing unforgettable performances. The event will take place in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall

Admission is free for both events and all are welcome. For more information, please visit noujcf.com/music, and to keep up with other performances, visit noujcf.com/calendar.
